DYNAFIT Transalpine Run

September 9–15, 2023

On September 9, 2023, the 18th DYNAFIT Transalpine Run powered by Volkswagen R (TAR) will set off on a seven-day journey across the Alps, starting in Lech am Arlberg in Austria, travelling through Switzerland, and finishing in Prad am Stilfserjoch in South Tyrol. In total, there are 268 kilometers and 15,330 meters of altitude to be covered. And there is some exciting news:

TAR solo
For the first time, solo runners will make their way across the Alps. We have been getting more and more requests from athletes who are having a hard time finding suitable team partners, but who absolutely want to experience the Transalpine Run once in their running lifetime. That is why 200 solo runners are allowed to fulfill this dream. The vast majority of those crossing the Alps, however will remain 2-person teams, as well 150 2-person teams who will run the first two stages in the “RUN2”.

7 Days
The TAR 2023 will be with 7 stages one day shorter than in most years before. The traditional mountain sprint will be omitted, in return there will be no price increase.

80% new route
The route itself is very demanding with 268 kilometers and 15,330 meters of altitude. Despite well-known stage towns, about 80% of the route is new.
